Dear Student-Artist,

Welcome to a new era of offering portfolio guidance to creative students applying to Fine Art & Design schools.  Students interested in careers that focus on fine art, design, art education, or even architecture & engineering will be asked to submit a portfolio with a college application.  Many prestigious Fine Art & Design schools now require a portfolio submission for acceptance into a program.  Like any positive attribute on an application or recommendation, a portfolio provides visual understanding of artistic behaviors and level of creative and technical skills.  Providing guidance is suggested to help students with the process of photographing artwork, documenting & editing images, and finally with online submission of portfolio.  Pursuing contests and receiving art awards will also considerably help with scholarships & financial aid. Portfolio submissions are an important step for future student-artists, and it is up to the student to create the portfolio with perseverance.
